Last year, my friend Grace (a girl after my own DIY-minded heart) gave me this fabulous present: a DIY wine cork trivet kit from Wine Enthusiast. (You can still purchase them from the Web site!) Grace happily enables my wine cork collecting hobby, saving her corks for me.

The kit is a super-easy and foolproof way to create a handy trivet at home, that takes minimal effort and time.
While I will definitely purchase another kit, I did learn a few things, which I’ll share in my directions.
