I’ve been keeping myself busy this summer trying to find hobbies besides happy hour. I’ve found two new projects I want to tackle – one for me to wear post-pregnancy, and one for the little baby-to-be.
In addition to learning to make ice cream and FINALLY finishing a holiday wreath on time, I’ve also been knitting a blanket for my bebe, which I’ll hopefully finish before the little one arrives in November. I’ve also been knitting a baby blanket for a sweet friend, who will hopefully be having her baby any day now. And why blankets? Oh, because after knitting for four years I can still can ONLY. KNIT. IN. A. STRAIGHT. LINE.
Pathetic. I know. My friend Allison has kindly offered to show me how to knit a hat! So I’d like to learn how to make something along the lines of this for my baby, which I found on Beanie Designs:
And these booties, also from Beanie Designs:
And this cute hat for spring from Beanie Designs:
Annnnndddd…. if you haven’t caught on yet, we’re having a girl! YAY! As for my other project, I saw this on Pinterest and just about died from excitement over how cute it was.
The picture linked back to this Japanese blog. The pictures are pretty self explanatory – you can use a lace doily for the pockets! You could sew them on with a machine, or probably stitch them on by hand, which is what I will try to do.
I mean, just think about how much Anthropologie would charge for this sweater! Probably like $150 bucks. You can probably make this for much, much less, by buying a well-fitting Cardigan that you like, and then stitching on the pockets yourself. I MAY try to knit the doilies myself, but if that fails, then I’ll order them online. Perhaps from Etsy.

Ohmigoshhhhhhhhh is it a girl????
